Firmware upgrade failure may cause device to malfunction, upgrade at your own risk. Requires a 256MB & above memory card. The HD80 must be powered by AC adaptor when upgrading. Please refer to user manual page 42 for instructions on how to upgrade firmware.

  3. Fixes bug in usage of fragmented non-contiguous hard disk space (requires reformatting of hard drive)

  2. 24-bit hardware based ECC copy verification (already available with all HyperDrive HD80)
  3. Custom folder names (already available with all HyperDrive HD80)
  4. Improved folder numbering
  5. Optimized usage of fragmented non-contiguous hard disk space
  6. Compatibility with Windows Scandisk application
  7. Improved Mac OS 9 compatibility and corrects Mac OS lowercase problem.

HD80 Format File
(FORMAT70.CMD)

This is the file needed to perform in-unit HD80 hard disk formatting. You would need an archive utility that supports the ZIP file format (e.g. WinZip for Windows or StuffIt for Mac OS). Unzip the ZIP file to obtain the FORMAT70.CMD file. Copy this file to the root directory of an empty memory card (256MB~2GB size) Refer to user manual page 45 for more information.
